If a customer says something worth repeating, repeat it.
A great Google review shouldn't only live on Google. When a customer takes the time to explain what they appreciated about your business, whether that's your communication, the quality of your work or the way you handled a tricky situation, they're giving future customers a reason to trust you too.
But if that feedback only lives on your Google Business Profile, there's a good chance plenty of potential customers will never read it.
Sharing a great review on social media is a simple way to make more of the reputation you've already earned, and you don't need to be a marketing expert or a graphic designer to do it well.
Here's how to get started.
A five-star review that says "Great service, highly recommend!" is always nice to receive, but it doesn't tell a potential customer much about what makes your business worth choosing.
The most useful reviews are the ones that explain why someone was happy with your service. Maybe the customer mentions your attention to detail, how you solved a problem they were worried about, or how your team went out of their way to make their experience easier.
These details give people something they can relate to, particularly when they're looking for a business they haven't dealt with before.
When choosing a review to share, look for one that highlights something you'd genuinely want your next customer to know about you.
You don't need to squeeze an entire review into a social media graphic. Often, the most effective approach is to pick out one or two sentences that capture what made the customer's experience memorable.
For example, imagine a customer left this review:
"Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. I needed everything organised at short notice and honestly didn't think it would be possible, but Sarah went out of her way to make it happen. Nothing was too much trouble and I couldn't be happier with the result."
The line "I honestly didn't think it would be possible, but Sarah went out of her way to make it happen" would make a great social post on its own because it communicates the things customers genuinely care about.
Keep the customer's wording accurate and avoid changing the meaning of their feedback, and remember if you're sharing their full name, photo or other identifying details, make sure you have their permission.
You don't need anything elaborate. A clean graphic with the review, your business name and maybe a photo of your team or work is often enough to get the message across.
We've put together an editable Canva template to make this easier. Simply replace the example review with your customer's words, add your business details and adjust the design to suit your brand.
When you share the graphic, add a short caption that gives the review a little context. For example:
"Sometimes our customers come to us with a tight deadline and a lot to organise. We love being able to take some of that pressure off, so it was great to hear how much Sarah's extra effort meant to this customer. Thanks for the lovely feedback!"
That small amount of context makes the post feel more personal and gives people a better understanding of what your business stands for.
Customer reviews are more than feedback. They're real examples of people putting their confidence in your business, and sharing those experiences helps future customers understand what they can expect when they choose you.
So next time someone leaves a great review, don't just reply with a thank you and move on. Think about whether there's something in their words that other customers would find reassuring, and turn it into a post.
You've already earned the trust. Make more of it visible.
